Northern Ontario Curling Championships

CFNO is proud to support the Northern Ontario Curling Championships

January 30- Feb 3 at the Nipigon Community Centre Arena

The 2019 men's AND ladies Northern Ontario Provincial Curling Championships will take place January 30 to February 3, 2019 at the Nipigon Community Centre. The winner of each event will go on to represent Northern Ontario at the National Championships.

8 men's teams and up to 6 ladies teams will compete to represent Northern Ontario at their respective National Championships (The Brier and The Scotties).

This is the first time ever the men's and ladies events are being combined into one event.  In 2006 when Nipigon hosted the men's event we were the first community to host it in an arena setting.  Nipigon also hosted the men's event in 2013.  The winner of that event (Jacobs rink from Sault Ste Marie) went on to win the Brier, and then went on to win the Gold Medal at the Winter Olympics.

Full event passes are available now for $40, single games are $5 , Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available now in TBay at the Fort William and Port Arthur Curling Clubs, also available in Nipigon at Canadian Tire, Zechner's Food Mart and Pelletier's Gas Bar on Hwy 11 at the Lake Helen Reserve.  Also available online at www.nipigoncurlingclub.ca.  Online ticket purchases can be picked up at the venue.  Full event passes and individual game entries will also be available at the venue.

Volunteers are needed for Doors, Timers, Drivers, 50-50 sales, Computer Scorers and Qualified Umpires. If you are interested, please contact Kurt Pristanski at Kurtp3@hotmail.com
