5th Hike for Hospice - Geraldton

Hospice Northwest Geraldton is holding its 5th Hike for Hospice this coming Saturday, May 25th. Pledge Sheets can still be picked up at Stedmans or the Town office until Wednesday of this week. Hike begins this coming Saturday with Opening ceremony beginning at 2 pm in the lobby of the Geraldton District Hospital. Funds raised supports the local Hospice program, training and the purchase of resources.

Casque Isles Trail Sweep - Schreiber

The Casque Isles Trail Club is sponsoring a Trail Sweep on June 1st/2nd and all volunteers are welcome to assist in clearing brush, deadfalls from the trail as well as installing markers and new signage. Volunteers must be able to hike over uneven terrain with some wet areas and many inclines/declines, Hiking Boots or other appropriate footwear is necessary. Bring a lunch and drinks, a barbecue will be provided at day's end on Schreiber Beach. All interested volunteers and Club members will meet at Schreiber Beach Parking lot at 09:00 on June 1st, for more information contact.

Becoming a Border Cats Bat Boy/Bat Girl
The Bat Boy/Bat Girl is an integral part of the Border Cats team. They ensure that all players’ on-field needs are met so everyone can play their best and give our fans a great show!
As a Bat Boy/Bat Girl you will get to meet and talk with the players and coaches; learn inside tips on what “pro ball’ is all about and see each and every play from on the field.
You provide;
· Baseball Pants & Proper Shoes
· Must have basic knowledge of baseball
· Min. age 8 yrs. old (League Rules)
· Must be available to work entire game
· Arrive 1/2 Hour Before Start Time
We provide;

This job is not for everyone – the Bat Boy/Bat Girl position is a demanding job requiring stamina and a positive attitude. Every day holds a unique experience often with tight timelines, so Bat Boys/Girls need to be smart, dependable, alert, and flexible. Bat Boys/Girls may see and hear things from adult players that may be inappropriate for children. Prospective applicants and their parents must be aware that these things do occur, and should consider this prior to making application.

Being a Myeloma Support Group Facilitator gives you the opportunity to meet and exchange with others who are facing similar challenges, seek information and resources and find support.

As a Multiple Myeloma March Leader, you will be part of our signature event, a 5km walk in communities across the country to increase awareness and raise funds for clinical research, for accelerated access to new, and gamechanging therapies for Canadians.

The Special Olympics Canada Winter Games will be held in Thunder Bay February 25-29, 2020 at various locations throughout the city.

About Special Olympics Canada:
Established in 1969, the Canadian chapter of this international movement is dedicated to enriching the lives of Canadians with an intellectual disability through the transformative power and joy of sport. Operating out of sport clubs in 12 provincial and territorial Chapters, this grassroots movement reaches beyond the sphere of sport to empower individuals, change attitudes and build communities. From two-year-olds to mature adults, more than 45,000 athletes with an intellectual disability are registered in Special Olympics year-round programs across Canada. They are supported by more than 21,000 volunteers, including more than 16,000 trained coaches.
